Work is ramping up on a new project adjacent a popular Seminole County commercial district that could cost north of $65 million to build. Altamonte Springs officials issued a permit in January for the foundation of a five-story, 261-unit apartment community to be built in the city's Uptown Altamonte area, near Altamonte Mall and Cranes Roost Park. Plans for vertical construction on the project, titled The Aston at Uptown, are being reviewed by Altamonte Springs city staff, said city manager Franklin Martz.
